Lion Camp has opted for a new look and feel. After 10 years of operating, we have decided to upgrade the camp.

Lion camp is uniquely situated, located in the remote north of South Luangwa National Park. Surrounded by pristine wilderness, the camp overlooks sprawling grasslands teeming with game – frequented by grazing mammals by day, and by night it becomes a hunting ground for Lions.

The structures which are currently in place are in need of refurbishment as they date back to 1998. In order to complete the major overhaul with minimal disruption, we will be closing for a season in 2017 and reopening in May 2018.New Lion Camp will retain everything that is great about the existing camp, but will have an enhanced look and feel.

We are using this opportunity to pursue a strong eco-focus, ensuring minimal impact to the environment with maximum longevity. Over the last 10 years, we have established an experienced guiding team and set consistently high standards with our food and service, this will continue with the same dedicated team when we reopen in 2018.

2018 rates will be published in mid-October and new bookings will be accepted from this date. We will keep you posted on developments and the progress of the upgrade.

We look forward to welcoming you to Lion Camp in 2018.
