The exlusive Musango Safari Camp, located on a private island on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe, is undergoing refurbishment. The 16-bed owner-run camp is situated just off the shoreline of the Matusadona National Park approximately halfway between Victoria Falls and Mana Pools.
The rooms have been made substantially more spacious. The tent zips have been replaced with gauze, providing a clear landscape of enchanting scenery . This has given way to a more expansive atmosphere with the entire front of the rooms now open, with a view of the Matusadona Hills and mouth of the Ume River.
The ‘Batonga’ theme which was inspired by the Tonga people who’s culture and tradition has been influencial in the renovation process. Rooms have even been furnished with artefects and remnants from the Tonga people’s traditional lands.
All rooms have views of Lake Kariba and have large outside sitting areas under the trees, which go down to the beach. Facilities include a swimming pool, bar, dining room, lounges and a library. Activities include , game walks, cruising, fishing, birding, and games drives.
