African Bush Camps will rebuild Khwai Tented Camp as a modern, spacious camp and also open a new tented camp, accommodating families early next year.

The new family camp, Khwai Leadwood, will offer two family units, accommodating four people each, and two standard suites built on raised decking. The tents will be en suite, with indoor and outdoor showers and flush toilets.

The new camp will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests and will include a full solar power farm and a sewerage purity system as ‘green tourism’ is part of the ethos of African Bush Camps,” says Jemma Macmillan, Public Relations Officer for African Bush Camps.

Khwai Tented Camp will be closed for five months from November for the reconstruction, and is expected to reopen early 2017 with a new family camp. It will still comprise six modern-style tents built on raised decking, with open views of the lagoon in front of camp.

“We are hoping to open both camps on April 1, 2017.” Macmillan said.
