Kariba is the place to be in August. The warm temperatures and balmy weather over the long weekend (6th – 8th August) make it an opportune time to enjoy the outdoors as well as specials on accommodation deals available during the August school holidays.
The Kariba Half Marathon, a 21.1km road race, one of the toughest Half Marathons on the African race calendar, takes place on Sunday 7th August. The attractive course which runs along the lake, through the hills of the Zambezi Gorge and across the Kariba Dam attracts runners from all over the region. It is hosted by the Lomagundi Lakeside Association and organised by a committee made up of local Kariba Residents.
We are excited to have some fabulous professional runners coming to our Kariba Marathon to add to the excitement and festivities
