The Victoria Falls Slog Out will take place for the 8th consecutive year at Victoria Falls Primary School, from 5-7 August 2016.

The Slog Out which has become a much anticipated annual event was founded by Garth Pritchard and Robin Brown in 2008. Ideally the first tournament sought to raise funds for the construction of a cricket pavilion. The building which became known as the Gavin Best cricket pavilion was then completed three years after the inception of the Slog Out.

It has become the landmark of the Victoria Falls Cricket Club, along with its festal connotations of banter, beer, camaraderie and a strong connection with the community. A combination of music, a bar opening at 0730 till late, as well as cheese and wine and other merriments guarantees a memorable weekend.

The tournament has continued to grow in stature with teams from Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, taking part in previous tournaments. This year teams from, Namibia, Harare and Victoria will compete in the 2 day contest.

The prelude will be an evening at the Riverside Venue where all are welcome. The tourney will conclude with an awards ceremony on Sunday.

Stall holders are welcome to participate in the event from Saturday 6 August to Sunday 7 August for a modest fee. For further information please call Garth on 0772177429.
