Dean Allen, well known speaker, historian and author of Empire, War and Cricket, will be in Zimbabwe this month to hold talks on his latest book. His talks will explore tales of Empire, War and Cricket in South Africa and reveal the origins of the famous Logan Cup.
Shortlisted for the Non-Fiction Book of the Year Award, Dean’s first book, Empire, War & Cricket in South Africa, is a historical account of the significance of Matjiesfontein and its founder James Douglas Logan focusing on cricket, politics and commerce.
He will be giving a talk at Elephant’s Walk Africa Café on Tuesday 26th July at 5.15pm. You do not have to be a cricket fan to enjoy what promises to be a riveting evening. It will be a highly entertaining and enjoyable night out, with a book signing opportunity. There will be snacks, meet and greet drinks as well as a cash bar and steak rolls.
