Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products, and attracts international visitors and media from across the world. The Fair is the successor of Shanyai/Vakatshani, the Zimbabwe International Travel Expo (ZITE) that was held annually at the Harare International Conference Centre. The expo’s objective is to afford local players a platform to showcase the country’s attractions and facilities to foreign buyers as well as improving tourist arrivals in the country.
The 9th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism and Travel Expo which was held in Bulawayo last weekend was a huge success. The expo provided an atmosphere conducive for business opportunities and afforded local players a great platform for networking. The 3-day tourism and travel showcase, which climaxed on Saturday at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) exhibition centre in Bulawayo, attracted an impressive 110 buyers from across the globe. Workshops organised by hosts, the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) helped players in networking, broadening their knowledge in the sector and in improving on management skills. Increased number of buyers, foreign exhibitors and media and business deals during the expo all echoed the success of the event.
In terms of international perks, Zimbabwe signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will position the country to benefit from the Pacific-Asian travel association network giving hope of increased marketing and visibility of Zimbabwe’s tourism.
