On Thursday the 16 June, Victoria Falls Primary School had it’s annual Book Day, just before breaking up for half term.
This year the chosen theme was comics. The children were encouraged to read about the history and origins of comics. The school was open for parents and visitors to look at classroom displays put together by the students and teachers.
Comics are actually found to be educationally beneficial to the development of children’s reading and literacy skills, through fostering enjoyment.
So in the words of the Grade One class during their short presentation for the mid-term assembly, “Mum’s and Dad’s let us read comics.”
