In June this year 2016, Proflight will add a new schedule to their network. Currently the internal privately owned Zambian airline is flying from Lusaka into Kasama with a 12 seater caravan. The new service will see the airline amend this service to fly from Lusaka into Mbala which is approximately 100km North of Kasama. Mbala is situated very near the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The change will allow the airline to increase the size of the aircraft currently in use as the runway and airport facilities at Mbala are superior.
This flight will allow for access for the tourism industry to the lodges and National Parks such as Sumbu that are on the southern shores of Lake Tanganyika and more specifically the picturesque Ndole Bay.
The lake itself is home to incredibly diverse aquatic species with the huge variety of colorful cyclids ( small tropical fish ) being the highlight for visiting divers and snorkeling enthusiasts. There are excellent lodge and activity facilities available from Lodges in the area such as Ndole Bay Lodge.

The airline will provide a shuttle service to Kasama from Mbala to ensure that clients currently being serviced on this route can still access the town and region.
Proflight Zambia was established in 1991 and is Zambia’s leading scheduled airline. From its base in Lusaka its domestic routes include, Livingstone, Mfuwe, Lower Zambezi, Ndola and Solwezi, and regional routes to Lilongwe in Malawi, and Durban in South Africa.
The airline prides itself in providing a safe, reliable, efficient and friendly service, and offering good value to business and leisure travellers locally and internationally.
The airline operates a 50-seater Bombardier CRJ-100 jet, three 29-seater Jetstream 41 aircraft and two18-seater Jetstream 32.
