THE resort town of Victoria Falls will come alive from tomorrow up to the early hours of New Year’s Eve, as thousands of festival-goers from all over the world converge for one of the festive season’s much awaited event, the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival.

The music festival, which is in its fourth edition, showcases combined Southern Africa’s leading artistes.

Among the star-studded line up of performers this year are Mango Groove an 11-piece South African Afropop band, MonArk, house/Kwaito/ DJ Diloxclusiv and GoodLuck all from South Africa, Motswana songstress Charma Gal and on local front there is celebrated Afro-fusion group Mokoomba, Zimbabwe’s finest Sounds, Judgement Yard and pop singer-cum producer Ryan Koriya among others.

Speaking to NewsDay, Mokoomba’s band manager Marcus Gora said they are ready for the festival, promising the best of their high energetic act.

“This year, we have managed to do a lot of work locally and regionally, headlining festivals like Hifa, Lake of Stars and Cape Town NuWorld Festival as our major highlights.”

“We are excited to be coming back to Jameson Vic Falls Carnival, sharing the stage with Mango Groove, GoodLuck and Judgement Yard among others that will be a fitting end to a great year,” Gora said.

According to the festival programme, tomorrow is the famous train party, that will see guest taking a five-hour steam train journey through the Victoria Falls National Park to an undisclosed location deep in the African bush.

The following day, (Tuesday) it will be also party time as the streets of the resort town (Victoria Falls) lights up with wonderful events hosted by the local backpackers, lodges and bars.

Shuttles will be ferrying fans to and from the party venues to specific hotels and drop-off points.

On the last day, (December 31), guests will be preparing for a supreme New Year’s Eve extravaganza, filled with music galore at Victoria Falls Primary School as top live music bands, musicians and wheel spinners from across the continent generating a merrymaking atmosphere.

The Jameson Vic Falls Carnival is a three-day music and lifestyle festival held annually at one of the Seven Wonders of the World in Zimbabwe.
