Only a few months away from one of Africa’s most thrilling music and adventure festival, revelers wait in anticipation of a great showcase from headline acts which include Mokoomba and the legendary South African band, Mango Groove.
This edition will be Mango Groove’s debut performance at the festival while Mokoomba will be returning to perform in their home town (Victoria Falls) having skipped last year’s showcase.
“Mango Groove is a multi-platinum-selling iconic band which continues to embody the bio diversity of Africa through their original, uplifting sound.
“Their unique, fresh blend of South African Marabi, Kwela and Pop influences, together with the voice and presence of Claire Johnston and the evocative penny whistle melodies of Mduduzi Magwaza, have captivated audiences around the world for decades and are now coming to Zimbabwe to ring in the New Year!,” said Darryn Lee, from the carnivals public relations.
Mokoomba have conquered Europe with their wildly energetic shows fusing ethno-jazz, traditional Tonga rhythms, Sahara blues, and salsa. “This blend of local Tonga and global influences will no doubt create that truly African experience our fans have come to expect,” he said.
Also hot on the line-up is one of SA’s most successful electronic acts, GoodLuck. This group is known from their
Taking It Easy hit which has over one million YouTube views. “Hot off their year of touring Europe and Africa they’ll create an unbelievable music experience with their slinky electro swing,” said Lee.
Other top artists to are ZiFM’s DJ Leroux, the famous Zyon Black, DJ Rax and and winner of the 2013 DJ Idols competition, Bhana, who has now solidified his place as one of Zimbabwe’s top DJ’s.
