Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort & Spa in northern Mozambique will close from August 1 to late November for refurbishments.
The Beach Pool Villas’ plunge pools will be replaced with larger splash pools and a sea-facing ‘champagne step’ will be constructed at each villa.
The decks will be equipped with new outdoor furnishings and the interiors of the villas and Anantara Spa will be upgraded.
New sliding, stacking windows and doors will be installed in the central main building on the ground level, the bar will be renovated and new light fittings will be installed throughout the main area.
A 400 kWp Solar PV plant will be installed with a solar charger feeding a battery bank that can store up to 1500 kWh. This will allow the resort to be powered entirely by solar energy, reducing pollution and minimising noise levels.
