Derek and Sarah Solomon have been running birdwatching and other special interest safaris in southern Africa for the past 25 years. Originally based in Harare, they travelled widely around Zimbabwe exploring the many and varied birdwatching destinations in the country. In 1991 they published a black & white guide to Zimbabwe’s birding destinations. Now based in Hoedspruit, South Africa on the edge of the Kruger National Park, they continue to run special interest safaris throughout the region while indulging in their passion of wildlife photography and sound recording. These activities have led to the development of an app on the Kruger National Park, and, more recently, a new digital guide to the birding destinations in Zimbabwe.
Designed specifically for tablets such as IPad’s and Android devices, the new guide, entitled Birding Zimbabwe, includes stunning full colour photographs of the major bird species, the many accommodation facilities that will cater for birdwatchers and the professional birding guides in the country.
The cost is only $9.99 and to purchase and download a copy of the guide go to Pocketmags.
