Just like there are 52 weeks in the year and we are often run off our feet to try and just get a weekend to relax each month – the New York times has decided to publish what they believe are the 52 places to see in 2015. Most of us will be lucky if we see one of them. Zimbabwe has been included in this list together with Milan, Singapore, Cuba and Durban in South Africa.
The reasoning to include Zimbabwe is simply that this country having gone through its political turmoil and economic problems, has now more or less stabilised and is set to become next year’s darling in tourism. The suggestion now is that the Game is good, the sites are varied and more or less quiet and the costs are reasonable – for now. With a new airport at Victoria Falls, a flock of new regional low cost airlines and new and exciting products, restaurants, lodges with Hotel expansions and upgraded infrastructures things are likely to get a lot busier for Zimbabwe in the years to come.
