Bulawayo-Johannesburg flights will commence from 02 March 2015 with one-way fares from $89 (inclusive of airport taxes) and will bring flyafrica’s low fare business model between all three principle destinations in Zimbabwe and Johannesburg.
“Following the great enthusiasm and support for our inaugural Harare-Johannesburg flight, we are continuing with our expansion plans”, says Professor Chaka Karase, CEO of Zimbabwe flyafrica. “Today’s announcement is great news for the people of Zimbabwe. We are offering domestic flights between Harare and Victoria Falls for never-before seen prices of $54 and flights from Bulawayo to Johannesburg from $89 (inclusive of airport taxes). We promised to bring low-fares to the market and we are delighted to be delivering on that promise.”
Zimbabwe flyafrica currently operates a daily Harare-Johannesburg flight and four flights per week between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg. Todays launch of Victoria Falls to Harare and Bulawayo to Johannesburg is the second stage of Zimbabwe flyafrica’s expansion – with more growth planned throughout 2015.
“Our route expansion is in line with the delivery of our second 737 into the Zimbabwe flyafrica fleet”, says Professor Karase. “Our next expansion will be into our neighbouring countries of Mozambique, Zambia, Tanzania and Malawi. We are committed to developing more routes during 2015 and enabling more passengers to travel around Africa without having to use the traditional path of connecting through Johannesburg.”
flyafrica’s expansion plans continue with Namibia flyafrica, the second member of the flyafrica.com family launching services between Windhoek and Cape Town and Johannesburg to Lusaka in March 2015. flyafrica.com will operate seven routes in Southern Africa by 16 March 2015. With a fleet of 5 x 737s, the rapid expansion of Africa’s Low Fare Airline will continue through 2015.
