Flyafrica’s first outbound flight from Johannesburg, scheduled to operate last week, was cancelled after the ZCAA revoked flyafrica pilots’ validation to fly.
Flyafrica Group Chief Executive Officer, Adrian Hamilton-Manns said at the time the setback was regrettable, “especially on what would have been our big launch day… but our first priority is to look after our passengers. We have promised to get people to and from Vic Falls, and we will,” he added.
“We are waiting for confirmation, but expect we could be in the air come Friday. It would be too soon to change any of the arrangements we have made to re-accommodate passengers now.”
Passengers affected have also been allowed to defer travel until a later date.
Calls to the Zimbabwean CAA went unanswered.
