On Tuesday May 6 2014, a fire destroyed most of Khulu Ivory.
The fire started at 1100 – 2 suites were burnt to the ground along with central areas, lounge and back of house.
No guests were in camp at the time and no staff were injured.
The cause of the fire is as yet unknown and our Insurers are already on site with us assessing the damage.
We have been working over the last 18 hours with our trade partners to move bookings in the coming months to alternative accommodation in the area, and thank everyone for their understanding and support at this difficult time. Please note that IVORY LODGE remains unharmed and in full operation.
It is our intention to rebuild the Lodge as soon as possible, once our Insurers give the green light. We shall keep you all informed and updated over the coming weeks and months. We look forward to seeing many of you at Indaba later this week.
Regards and thanks

Editors Note : Our thoughts are with Sharon and the Amalinda team. A huge setback, but we have every confidence the camp will be up and running again in no time !
