Sail with Elephants is a new branding for a wonderful adventure product on Lake Kariba. Formerly known as Sail Safaris, this company has attracted new investment, and offers six comfortable catamaran yachts on Lake Kariba. They can be sailed either individually, or in a flotilla and are perfect for groups, families, schools and team-building programmes. They are stable, easy to handle and perfect for those wanting to learn to sail.
The sailboats each have two cabins and a spacious deck which can sleep four comfortably – six if there are children. Each boat requires a skipper – someone with at least dinghy experience – or Sail with Elephants can supply a sailor for you. A combination of sailing and walking with a Professional Guide is ideal. Sail with Elephants can provide the guide, who is very often a sailor too. He can take you for walks in the wildlife-rich Matusadona National Park and teach you about the bush and the animals.
You can choose between a full holiday package (including flights and additional destinations e.g. Victoria Falls and the Zambezi Valley) or a self-drive option. Sailing trips can be fully-catered or you can choose to bring your own food and drink. The galley has a two-plate stove and there is braai (barbeque) equipment and an ice-locker for cold drinks. A competent chef can take over all the kitchen work and can accompany the flotilla on a separate support boat – the Mother ship with the Guide and a Sailor. Or you can just do it yourself, independently.
Sail with Elephants is a reasonably priced, exciting, active, close-to-nature, family holiday. They are offering special holiday rates in celebration of their new branding.
