A high powered Zambia delegation arrived in Berlin-Germany yesterday to market Zambia’s tourism products and woe investors to the country.
The team which was received at Tegel International Airport by First Secretary at the Zambian Embassy in Germany Susan Katema and First Secretary-Political Mr. Happy Zimba is being led by Tourism and Arts Deputy Minister Lawrence Evans and Permanent Secretary Steven Mwansa.
During the nine day trip, Zambia will be making a case for investors to put up hotels in Zambia at the 7th International Hotels Investment Forum running from 3rd to 5th March at the Intercontinental Hotel-Berlin after which the team will be exhibiting at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) from 5th to 9th March, 2014.
The Zambian contingency includes the Zambia Tourism Board, officials from the Ministry of Tourism & Arts and the Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (HTTI) while the tourism private sector is represented by Norman Carr Safaris and Flatdogs (in South Luangwa National Park) and Voyagers Zambia, a leading travel agent.
ITB- Berlin is the world’s largest tourism trade fair providing a platform for almost all segments and players in the tourism industry: destinations, tour operators, booking systems, carriers, hotels and Tourism Boards from around the world.
Germany is one of the top international markets that the Zambia Tourism Board has targeted this year and ITB provides the biggest and most strategic platform to woe German travelers and investors to Zambia.
