Children in the Wilderness is an environmental and life skills educational programme that focuses on the next generation of rural decision makers. The project is supported by Wilderness Safaris, utilizing their extensive camps throughout the region. Since its inception in 2001, the programmes have extended to 7 African countries, with well over 4 500 children staying at various Wilderness Camps. The aim of the programme is to teach the children the importance of their natural heritage, and to expose them to the many opportunities the tourism industry has to offer. There are also Eco Clubs and extensive community projects, in order to sustain and uplift communities in rural areas.
2013 has proved to be the most successful year to date, and we look forward to an action packed 2014 !
