Pioneers Camp is something really special. Just a short distance from Victoria Falls Town, it is a refreshing escape from the busy village into the tranquil Zambezi National Park. Located on the banks of the Zambezi River, Pioneers Camp is the perfect place to chill out, the sounds of gurgling waters, grunting and squabbling hippos creating a natural melody, extremely conducive to a relaxing afternoon.
There are six tented guest suites, each one well-placed from the other, to provide for complete privacy from other guests. Tents are nestled under shady trees overlooking breath-taking views of the river. The main lounge areas of Pioneers Camp are set on a sandy beach, under canvas and open on all sides, to give guests unobtrusive views of the river while enjoying an ice cold drink or tucking into a delicious meal.
The staff are from the Victoria Falls area, knowledgeable of their surroundings and well experienced in the safari and lodge industry. With friendly smiles and gracious care, they really know how to make you feel at home. Wake up every morning to hot tea/ coffee or decadent hot chocolate, delivered to your room. There are guides on hand to escort you to and from you room, should there be any wildlife meandering through camp. A minimum of two nights stay is ‘okay’, but definitely not enough for you to fully enjoy this wonderful hospitality.
There are a variety of activities to be enjoyed – fishing, game drives, boat cruises and canoeing, or simply just to relax and catch up on some gentle “me” time. You may also take a drive into Victoria Falls for a guided tour of the Falls, a visit to the bridge, or spend some time in bargaining in the local markets. The lodge can assist you with bookings for the various activities available in the Falls.
