Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust rescued a little baby elephant three days ago, between Victoria Falls and Hwange. It is believed her mother was hit by a vehicle. Still a long way to go, but with constant care and watchful eyes, we are sure she is going to make it! Credit to the National parks, Matetsi Police and surrounding local communities for calling it in. We estimate the elephant to be no more that 2 weeks old. She is still very pink and wobbly on her feet. The baby seems to have taken to the milk formula well, but the coming weeks will be an uphill struggle for her. We will keep you updated on her progress.
