Mugg & Bean have opened their doors in Zimbabwe at the ever popular Sam levy’s Village in Harare. Mugg & Bean, part of the “Famous Brands” group, a home grown South African franchise that includes Debonaires Pizza, Steers, Wimpy…and many more. The Zimbabwean Franchisee is none other than African Sun CEO Shingi Munyeza.
Mr Munyeza hopes to open a further 3 outlets around the country in the next 12 months. We are not sure at this stage if the proposed outlets include plans for a Mugg & Bean in Victoria Falls.
Local Zimbabweans are delighted that the popular South African brand has opened in the country and believe that local coffee shops will benefit from the competition in the long run. Just like other destinations around the world Zimbabwe has a growing “coffee culture” with many outlets doing a roaring trade in the more affluent centres of Harare and Bulawayo.
