Nyamoumba Lodge has a beautiful setting on the banks of the Zambezi River as it emerges from the Kariba Gorge, 25kms downstream from the dam wall. It is a self-catering fishing lodge, sleeping eight people, with four full-serviced, en-suite chalets and an open-plan central dining/bar area overlooking a pool and barbeque area set in delightful, shady gardens at the edge of the river. The lodge has been carefully designed with the heat of the Zambezi valley in mind. A silenced generator provides electricity when required and to power fans in all the rooms. Each chalet has its own open-air bathroom at the back, and plentiful hot water is supplied by solar-energy.
Visitors can bring their own boats or hire the lodge’s beautiful skippered craft for fishing expeditions downstream towards Chirundu or upstream into the Kariba Gorge.
The camp also offers four lawned campsites with picnic facilities under shady trees overlooking the river. Each has its own individual ablution-block/kitchen.
Access is by air charter to a nearby airstrip, or via a two-hour dirt road journey along the Zambezi escarpment from Marongora.
Wild Dog Tours offers a professional and personal service to its clients and can assist in all kinds of requests, including
• Drinks, ice & bait orders
• Fishing rod hire
