VFAPUThe Victoria Falls Anti Poaching Unit (VFAPU) was established in 1999 by Victoria Falls Safari Lodge (VFSL) together with Professional Guide, local safari operator and conservationist,  Charles Brightman. VFSL, continues to be a major supporter of VFAPU and its operations.

VFAPU started off with 3 scouts, and thanks to continual assistance from AAT and a host of other donors, has grown to providing full time employment to 16 scouts. Working closely with Zimbabwe Republic Police and Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, these men patrol in an area of 50km around Victoria Falls night and day; in effect, tangibly minimising poaching and building local community awareness and appreciation of the importance of VFAPU and the wildlife they protect. VFAPU is dependent on donations in order to carry out the role it has pledged to do. Anti-poaching is a dangerous and difficult task, with these men regularly putting their lives on the line.
