The Explorers Club from Peterhouse School in Marondera, Zimbabwe, have a plan to carry their school flag from Kazengula to Kanyemba along the Mighty Zambezi River. Last August, they covered a large section of Lake Kariba on catamaran sailing boats with Sail Safaris. This year, 19 Peterhouse School pupils and two staff members paddled 183km of the Zambezi River in the Victoria Falls area.
Wild Horizons in Victoria Falls put together an excellent package for the group, to enable the Peterhouse flag to be carried along some of the most beautiful parts of the Zambezi River. The trip involved three days of canoeing on the river above the Falls, a couple of days to explore the Falls itself and take part in some of the adventure activities available in the resort town, followed by five days of white-water rafting down the Batoka Gorges below the Falls.
