Zimbabwe Summer Special:  Vic Falls-Hwange-Kariba (6 night/7 day package)

Wilderness Safaris in conjunction with Changa Safari Camp (Lake Kariba) are offering a special 6-night/7-day package this summer, linking Victoria Falls, Hwange and Kariba.

The programme is based on the following:

Wilderness Air charter from Victoria Falls to Hwange and spend 3 nights at Wilderness Safaris’ Davison’s or Little Makalolo  Camps (Hwange National Park). Wilderness Air scheduled charter from Hwange to Kariba Airport as well as road transfer from the airport to the harbour – about 30 mins, and then transfer by boat from Kariba to Changa – about 45 minutes.

3 nights at Changa Safari Camp to return to Kariba Airport by boat and road. Wilderness Air scheduled charter from Kariba back to Victoria Falls.

This package is valid between 15 November 2013 to 19 December 2013 and 11 January 2014 to 31 March 2014 (festive season from 20 December 2013 to 10 January 2014 is excluded).

Although outside the traditional safari season, summer is a great time of year to travel.  The rains bring about vibrant floral displays and a kaleidoscope of colours, including wonderful light for photography and lush green vegetation.  There’s an explosion of new life as many species give birth to their young, and in turn, predators take full advantage of the abundance of inexperienced younger prey.

Wilderness_safaris_logoIt’s the best season for birding…some bird species are displaying spectacular breeding plumage and many migratory species have arrived for the summer.  Summer temperatures are perfect for warm pre-dawn starts to the day and afternoon excursions, and very pleasant for star-gazing.
