We are pleased to announce that Elephant’s Eye, Hwange, the spectacular new camp of African Luxury Hideaways, is now OPEN.

It has taken a little longer than expected to complete the camp with its 8 custom designed and built raised guest tents hostin a maximum of 16 guests at a time. The wait however has been well worth it, with bath tubs, rain showers, fire places for the colder months and balconies with fantastic views over the very active waterhole. Elephant’s Eye is not only a great place to explore Hwange National Park but also a wildlife experience in its own right.

Elephant’s Eye, Hwange has been designed and built to be eco-friendly, with as little impact on the natural environment as possible. Using natural elements for construction, solar for electricity and hot water and an eco-swimming pool; and by obtaining fresh produce from the surrounding villages, Elephant’s Eye is not only eco-friendly but has a positive and sustainable impact on the local communities.

Elephant’s Eye, Hwange is located on a private concession (6000 ac) a mere 13 km away from the entrance to Hwange National Park. Hwange National Park is the largest Park in Zimbabwe, covering an area of approximately 14 650 square kilometers. Named after a local chief, Hwange is situated in the northwest corner of the country about one hour south of the Mighty Victoria Falls.

Activities at Elephant’s Eye, Hwange include game viewing, guided educational walks, bird watching, and night game drives, all with Zimbabwe professional guides; swimming or enjoying sundowners while relaxing near the natural ozone eco-pool. There are over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 bird species recorded in Hwange National Park. Specifically, the elephant population in Hwange is world famous, as it is one of the largest in the world.
