A golf tournament to market Victoria Falls as a tourist destination of choice ahead of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly scheduled for this month has been launched.
When people think of Zimbabwe’s golf courses they tend to think of Nick Price and Brendon de Jonge. This weekend we have Zimbabwe’s Vice President Joice Mujuru teeing off the tournament, which will be held at Elephant Hills Hotel in Victoria Falls on the 9th August.
Speaking at the launch, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Infrastructure Development, Mr Munesushe Munodawafa said Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it is important to market it as a destination of choice through the golf tournament.
The tournament is being organised by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and sponsored by NetOne, partnered by TelOne, but other corporates are welcome to sponsor the event.

Sports personalities George Shaya, Peter Ndlovu and Axcil Jeffries are expected to take part in the tournament to raise awareness of the UNWTO and the beautiful sporting facilities that Victoria Falls has to offer, including the Elephant Hills Golf Course and 51 other activities that delegates can engage in while touring the town.
