Zambia Railways Limited has signed an agreement with Bushtracks Africa to enable Bushtracks operate its Royal Livingstone Express train to the Victoria Falls bridge.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, ZRL Chief Executive Officer, Muyenga Atanga says the signing of the M.o.U is a vital step that signifies Zambia Railways Limited’s determination to improve its railway system through partnerships.
Dr. Atanga says ZRL will do everything possible to ensure that the venture is a success as the country prepares for the UNWTO Conference.
And Bushtracks Africa Managing Director, Christopher Tett, says the move will boost the tourism industry as it will allow tourists to see the Victoria Falls from across the bridge.
Mr. Tett has disclosed that the initial train rides to the Victoria Falls Bridge will be accessible on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
He says Bushtracks Africa hopes to start offering train rides to the Victoria Falls Bridge soon, once the railway line is rehabilitated.
Currently Bushtracks offers train services to the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park for game viewing as a tourism package.
At the Bushtracks Africa base in Livingstone, Zambia, the team has also been expanded. This expansion is focused on improving the visitor’s experience the moment he or she steps off the plane; the Ground Handling Department will focus on ensuring that Bushtracks Africa’s customers receive the best possible service while escorting them around Livingstone and the Victoria Falls region.
Bushtracks Africa offers a range of services and activities based in the Livingstone area.
