The border runs down at the middle of Lake Kariba and the border for each country are either side of the Kariba Dam wall. When visiting Zimbabwe all visitors are required to have a valid passport and those travelling with vehicles need to have the original vehicle registration paper, vehicle license, if driving someone else vehicle, an affidavit signed by the owner authorizing the person with the vehicle to use it and third party insurance. Payments are often made for road access fee based on the vehicle size and carbon pollution fee.

Victoria Falls

Zimbabwe – Botswana

 

Kazungula

Closest Town: Kazungula (2.51km), Impalila (8.31km)

Kazungula Road Border Post (Zim) links Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Kasane (Botswana), situated 70km east of Victoria falls. In 2011 the border post was refurbished as there were reports of increased congestion, since Victoria Falls is a popular tourist town in Zimbabwe and during busy seasons there is a large inflow of visitors. When visiting Zimbabwe all visitors are required to have a valid passport and those travelling with vehicles need to have the original vehicle registration paper, vehicle licence, if driving someone else vehicle, an affidavit signed by the owner authorising the person with the vehicle to use it and third party insurance. Payments are often made for road access fee based on the vehicle size and carbon pollution fee. The stipulated charges are set in either US dollar or South African Rands, though any other foreign currencies are accepted they are however converted into the prevailing rate of the US dollar for that particular period.

Pandamatenga

The Panamatenga village and border post is located in the North West of Botswana on the border line between them and Zimbabwe. A valid passport book and your vehicle papers must always accompany your car. Goods acquired outside the country must be declared at border gate. For any clarifications on this matter please contact the Customs office. This is one of the smaller border post and a lot quieter than the Kazungula post.

Ramokgwebane

Closest Town: Francistown (80km), Plumtree (11.6km)

This is the border Control Post close to the eastern border of Botswana and Plumtree, Zimbabwe. A valid passport book and vehicle papers must always accompany your car. Goods bought outside the country must be declared. For any clarifications on this matter contact the Customs office. The town lies on a railway connection.

Zimbabwe – South Africa

 

Beitbridge

Closest Town: Beitbridge (177m), Musina (15.6km)

Ensure that you have relevant vehicle registration documents, and if you are hiring the vehicle, a letter from the bank giving you permission to take the vehicle across the border. A police clearance may also be required (Jun-12). If you enter Zimbabwe with your own vehicle you only need the original registration document (take copies to hand in) and your driver’s license and passport. If the vehicle is registered in the name of a company or somebody else’s name, you need to have a letter on an official letterhead stating that you may take the car through the border. If the owner is not the driver, it should be stated in the letter that the owner or company has given permission for the driver to drive the vehicle.

Zimbabwe – Mozambique

 

Espungabera

This is the border post between Mozambique and Zimbabwe near the town of Espungabera. You will need a Passport valid for 6 months, an entry visa except if from South Africa, Malawi or Mauritius and the registration book or docs for your vehicle.

Forbes Border Post Mutare

Closest Town: Mutare (5.62km)

Forbes Border Post is situated 10 minutes’ drive east of Mutare and a getaway to the Beira corridor and is between Zimbabwe and Mozambique, bordering the Nyamapanda border on the Mozambique side. When visiting Zimbabwe all visitors are required to have a valid passport and those travelling with vehicles need to have the original vehicle registration paper, vehicle license, if driving someone else vehicle, an affidavit signed by the owner authorizing the person with the vehicle to use it and third party insurance. Payments are often made for road access fee based on the vehicle size and carbon pollution fee. Visitors travelling using own vehicles are advised to carry US dollars or South Africa Rands for all the fees payable at the border post.

Nyamapanda

Nyamapanda border post is between Zimbabwe and Mozambique from Harare en route to Tete. A valid passport and original vehicle registration papers must accompany your car when visiting Zimbabwe and using own car, vehicle license is also needed and if driving someone else vehicle, an affidavit signed by the owner authorizing the person with the vehicle to use it and third party insurance. Payments are often made for road access fee based on the vehicle size and carbon pollution fee. Base currencies for border fees payments are USD and ZAR and all other accepted but converted into prevailing rate of the USD.
