1Tired of seeing the” racing snakes” leave you in their dust? Keen for some good, social competition, and a LOT of fun? Then enter a team, and compete with your peers on the Vic Falls MTB Challenge 2013.

From the base of The Kingdom Hotel, in Victoria Falls – competitors will cycle over three days in different areas of this beautiful region. Each night you will be in complete comfort in your selected hotel room, with access to swimming pools, maybe a round of golf, or pop into town in the afternoon and do some sight seeing or curio shopping.

 

The following itinerary below:

 

Thursday 13th June (lucky for some)

15h00 – Check in at the pool area of Adventure Lodge for Registration

16h00 – Pre–race briefing at the restaurant at Adventure Lodge

17h00 – Truck will be in the car park of Adventure Lodge, cyclists to load their own bikes (please advise who has the latest axle systems so we can try be prepared for these bikes, as the frame on the truck is designed for the older version standard fittings)

 

Friday 14th June (Approx. 70km)

05h30 – Truck with Bikes on, will depart from Adventure Lodge car park

06h00 – Bus will depart from Adventure Lodge with cyclists

07h00 – Race will start at Matetsi start point and ride through the Zambezi National Park to finish at Adventure Lodge, route will be shown at briefing the day before.

07h00 – Supporters bus will depart from Adventure Lodge to view the cyclists in the Park

18h00 – Race Briefing for the Saturday stage, followed by a buffet dinner

 

Saturday 15th June (Approx. 90km)

07h00 – Race will start from Adventure Lodge out to woodlands area and finish back at the Hotel, route will be shown at briefing the evening prior.

07h00 – Supporters bus to depart from Adventure Lodge to viewing spot.

18h00 – Race Briefing for the final stage, followed by dinner

 

Sunday 16th June (Approx. 82km)

07h00 – Race will start from Adventure Lodge out to Wild Horizons trust area and finish back at the Hotel, route will be shown at briefing the evening prior.

07h15 – Supporters depart from Adventure Lodge to viewing points

18h00 – Prize giving followed by dinner and bring your dancing shoes so we can celebrate an awesome event, if you not to tired!!!

Please advise any spares requirements you anticipate us, needing here, we do have bombs, but expect you all to have your own lube, tool kits and basic first aid kits.

day3_5Total distance travelled is estimated to be in the region of 250km.

1. Teams of 2: compete in all three days for the event.

2. Teams of 6: teams of 2 do one day each, and on their “off” days, jump on the supporter’s bus and “motivate” your mates (or go and play some golf etc.).

3. Teams must have AT LEAST ONE MEMBER per “day” from the competing COMPANY and, teams must ride together (e.g. you can invite your riding buddy to ride for your Company but, if you get Lance Armstrong to come as a ringer, he rides at YOUR pace)

4. Mixed teams – e.g. male and female allowed.

5. Invoices to the Company taking part, not individuals.
