“We will be granting free visas to anybody who is coming to the general assembly at the point of entry. This includes delegates, their spouses and children,” Mr. Mzembi said.

Approximately 5 000 delegates are expected to attend the event, to be hosted in Africa for the second time after Senegal in 2005.

“The conference is good for Zimbabwe as it puts us on the world map and raises the tourism profile of the country. Zimbabwe will be known as one of the best destinations in the world. It is our hope that after this conference, we can attract many tourists,” he said.

The conference is expected to attract 155 member States from around the world and over 400 affiliate members from the private sector.
