Lusaka has recently hosted the Zambia Sugar Open 2013 Golf Tournament at Lusaka Golf Club where the competition was decided over 72 holes of Stroke play and is part of the Sunshine Tour.

Zimbabwe’s Ryan Cairns finished tied fourth at the tournament and got SAR43 000 as prize money for his efforts. Adilson da Silva won his second title in Zambia as he held off Alex Haindl and Martin du Toit by a single stroke for the 11th sunshine tour victory of his career.

In the final round, he carded a level-par 73, showing the value of a cool head and experience as every time he made a bogey, he was able to match it with a birdie to keep out his pursuers.

Best of those on the day was Anthony Michael, who carded a fine six-under-par 67 to move into a five-way share of fourth, two strokes behind da Silva.
