I am writing this note to you from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Last night I received, on behalf of The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa, the Prestigious World Luxury Hotel Award for Best Safari Lodge and Spa in Africa – not Best in Zambia as we did in 2010, in Africa. I was approached by one of the judges after the gala dinner and awards ceremony who had stayed at the DLSL&Spa. He shared with me some very encouraging remarks about his stay with us.
He was very clear that we had won the award for a combination of good reasons:- the style and architecture of the hotel, the well presented and spacious r ooms, the unique location and incredible views, the food and exceptional service but the main reason for the award was due to the very attentive and friendly staff that made his stay so memorable. He said The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa stood out in terms of total delivery of a world class product, that it was in a class of its own and outperformed all other 5 star resorts and hotels throughout Africa for one deciding reason…. The exceptionally friendly and attentive staff.
This was the principle and deciding reason for our award. WELL DONE!
