RADISSON Hotel is interested in setting up a three-to five-star hotel in Livingstone ahead of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) general assembly, proprietor Ody’s Manidenakis has said.

Mr Manidenakis said once land was found, he would set up a hotel which would have about 150 rooms.

He was speaking in an interview in Livingstone recently on the sidelines of the first Tourism Investment Forum for the UNWTO general assembly.

Mr Manidenakis said he was inspired to set up a hotel in the tourist capital  because of the soaring demand for quality accommodation facilities ahead of the international event next year.

During the Tourism Investment Forum, Mr Manidenakis spent some time distributing his business cards to Livingstone residents and other delegates who had land where the hotel could be set up.

The forum attracted Livingstone tourism operators, investors, local residents, Government institutions and other members of the business community.

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Bob Sichinga and Tourism and Arts Minister Sylvia Masebo also attended the meeting. / Times of Zambia
