New Airport charge For Zambia
Zambia’s National Airports Corporation (NACL) has introduced an Aviation Infrastructure and Development charge effective 01 September 2012 (applies to both existing bookings and new ones).
This charge will be applicable at Lusaka, Ndola, Mfuwe and Livingstone airports and will be payable direct to the NACL airport offices along with departure and security taxes. It is a flat rate for adults, children and infants.
The charges are:
Domestic ZMK28, 000 per person
International ZMK56, 000 per person
Note: for international flights, please verify with the airline if this is included or payable at the airport.
Proflight Zambia Schedule Change
Becasue of the recent winter schedule change by British Airways (from operating days Mon, Thu, Sat to Mon, Wed, Sat), Proflight Zambia has changed their Lusaka/Mfuwe schedules to accommodate this. There will now be a Wed morning flight to connect ex BA to Mfuwe and the Thur morning flight on this route has been changed to an afternoon one. This change is effective 28 Oct 2012 in line with the BA schedule change.
Reminder on use of Zambian Kwacha locally
Further to the new regulations by the Zambian government, the local Zambian Kwacha (ZMK) is now the sole currency of payment for all local transactions. At the moment visa fees are still payable is US$ but everything else in ZMK.
