It has been confirmed that 1time have all but been given the final ok to begin a scheduled service into Zimbabwe from Johannesburg South Africa. From what we understand the airline is looking at both schedules into Harare and into Victoria Falls.

Just yesterday 1time undertook and successfully completed an maiden “demonstration” flight into Harare.

We have been unable to find much news on this subject apart from the following article

We are told that 1time will be issuing a Press statement in the next few days.

BULAWAYO – South Africa based budget airline 1time is set to service Zimbabwe and wider parts of Zambia soon as part of plans to expand into the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC).

The skies over Zimbabwe and Zambia are opening up and we see some exciting opportunities there. As we expand, we will need longer-range aircraft, 1time Holdings CEO Glenn Orsmond said.

Currently the airline is servicing Mozambique and Zanzibar.

The airline is expected to shake up its competitors with the launch next month of five flights a week between Johannesburg and Maputo, charging about half the fare of its closest rivals.

It has long-term plans to expand beyond the region into the rest of Africa and is for the first time looking at acquiring new aircraft in the next few years.
