Sunday morning at 0720 the first large direct flight from Paris France landed at Livingstone Airport Zambia. The huge A330 aircraft with a seating capacity of nearly 300 people was also the largest ever air craft to land at this airport. There were actually 150 people on this flight and they are visiting the region for only 4 days before traveling on to the Seychelles Islands.
A 50 member brass band from the local Zambian Airforce welcomed the aircraft on the tarmac. The group of people cleared customs and immigration within 40 minutes and were on their way to the Royal Livingstone Hotel for a 3 night stay. Part of their visit will see them going to nearby Chobe national park in Botswana for a day.
