INTRODUCING UNICA IN VICTORIA FALLS – On be half of United Children of Africa (UNICA) a registered Trust (MA750/2011) working with vulnerable children and youth in Zimbabwe, we wish to introduce UNICA to all Victoria Falls stakeholders and residents and the entire Hwange district community. The organization was founded in September 2010 with an aim of uplifting the livelihoods of vulnerable communities with focus on children and youth. It was established with the increasing need for interventions for children and youth who due to the current world economic crisis are trapped in poverty and deprived of basic needs including their rights as the future generations. In this regard, UNICA seeks to be a mouth piece for children and youth in all issues affecting them. Children have in a long time been regarded as in eligible to contribute to policy development which has resulted in the implementation of inappropriate interventions for them. UNICA works for the creation of a just and peaceful world for all children and youth, current and future generations. Its aim is based primarily on the principles of child rights protection, care and support, tolerance and equal rights for all people regardless of their origin, gender and religion.
a) To produce the most confident, successfully empowered, role modeled children and youth generation in African societies.
b) To ensure children and youth involvement at all levels of policymaking processes and facilitate development of youth entrepreneurs.
c) To develop African communities through initiating and implementing sustainable community development programs.
d) To raise awareness on HIV/AIDS, mainstream gender issues and disability among children and youth through offering psychosocial initiatives.
Our Vision – To promote sustainable community development initiatives amongst vulnerable children and youth for the benefit of current and future generations.
