The Royal Livingstone Hotel in Zambia, which is part of Sun International’s collection of hotels, has been rated among the top 100 best hotels in the world by the readers of Travel and Leisure magazine.
The hotel scored 92.59 in the survey of the Best Hotels in the World 2010, was rated 67th in the list of the world’s top 100 Hotels, and 10th in the list of the best lodges and resorts in Africa and the Middle East.
Sun International Zambia general manager Joanne Selby said the hotel is delighted with the gesture.
Ms Selby said this is the first time the hotel has made it to top 100 best hotels in the world.
This is the first time we’ve made the top 100 and we are absolutely delighted. We offer the ultimate African Safari – colonial sophistication coupled with exotic wildlife and extreme adventure,” Ms Selby said.
Out of the top 100 hotels, 69 are located outside the United States of America and Canada, eight in India, seven in South Africa and six in Italy and France.
