Royal Livingstone Hotel

“like walking back into the past – a colonial masterpiece.”

Stunning location and lovely facilities but overpriced for what it is.
The food at the hotel is what really lets this place down. For a 5* hotel i would expect much better. the menu is the same every day and the food just lacked a spark and was expensive.
The other thing to note is that it is not somewhere you can relax in piece and quite. the noise of helicopters and micolights flying above is unavoidable but does spoil the setting.
The view of vic falls from zambia i found a little underwhelming, i love nature and i expected to be blown away but i wasn’t. In september the flow is not at its lowest but it does not do the waterfall justice. You have to take to air and add to the noise to get the best view but is a must do.
My top tip would be stay at the zambei sun which is on the same complex and save the money. You can use the facilities at either hotel. One night we ate at the restaurant (squires) at the zambei sun and it was not fine dining but the food was of a good quality and very decent portion size.
