Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe 2011 will begin on Thursday, September 1, where they will start by playing in the Coca-Cola Test Match @ Queens Sports Club- Bulawayo. This will be Zimbabwe’s second test match since their return to Test cricket.
Pakistan vs Zimbabwe 2011 is an international bilateral series organized by Zimbabwe which consists of 1 Test, 3 ODI and 2 T20 matches. Brendon Taylor will lead the Zimbabwe side and hopefully lead from the front as he so ably did against Bangladesh.
The Pakistan squad seems to be an experimental one, with the bowling attack in particular featuring several new names and missing some of the senior players. Umar Gul, Tanvir Ahmed and Wahab Riaz, who have been Pakistan’s three premier fast bowlers in recent times, have all been rested, with Sohail Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Cheema and Junaid Khan making up the pace attack. There is also a change in the spin department with Abdur Rehman being rested and Yasir being given an opportunity.
