Azambezi River Lodge was re opened on the 18th of May this year. The Lodge has undergone a “full make over” with modern in-room fittings, changes to the reception area and the opening up of the restaurant and bar to enjoy expansive views of the Zambezi River.

the “Azam”, as it is fondly known, is the only Hotel on the Zimbabwean side of the Victoria Falls that is built on the bank of the Zambezi and is situated some 4 kilometers from the Victoria Falls themselves.

There are now 87 rooms in the Hotel the number having been reduced to make way for some amazing suites on the second floor. The old reception area is now a 100 seater conference facility.

The gardens of the Lodge have also enjoyed a make over with plenty of water features including picturesque water falls. The green lawns expand down to the rivers edge and the creative use of the locally sourced volcanic rock has given the gardens a unique touch.

Shane de Lang is the new General Manager and having overseen the successful launch is excited about the road ahead.
